Arginine and citrulline, the best amino acids before training
L-arginine is an amino acid that contributes to the regulation energy metabolism in cells, participating in the Krebs cycle. This reaction also produces a signaling molecule, i.e nitric oxide, which may participate in, among others, muscle contractility and metabolism, as well as in the intensification of neuronal activity. Nitric oxide causes vasodilation (which is commonly referred to as “muscle pump”) and increases tissue perfusion, thereby improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to production ATP. Indeed, nitric oxide availability improves mitochondrial respiration and muscle biogenesis. And what is the relationship between arginine and citrulline? Well, L-citrulline is known as L-arginine precursor, which in turn is a substrate in the nitric oxide production process. L-citrulline therefore plays an important role in metabolism and regulation of nitric oxide.
Taurine – what do you know about it?
Taurine is involved in the regulation of cell volume and plays a role in modulating intracellular free calcium concentration. Although it is one of the few amino acids not incorporated into proteins, taurine is one of the most common amino acids in the brain, retina, muscle tissue and organs throughout our body. Taurine performs many different functions in the central nervous system. Skeletal muscle contains significant amounts of it. Taurine is important in various processes occurring in our body (e.g. in the regulation of glucose and lipids, in energy metabolism). He also plays a role thanks to his antioxidant properties. Given the wide distribution of taurine, its numerous properties and functional importance in cell development, nutrition and survival, taurine is undoubtedly one of the most important substances in the body.

As you probably know, vitamins are also of great importance when you lead an active lifestyle. Therefore, in our pre-training could not be missing either. As regards B vitamins, it is niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin and vitamins B6 and B12 that contribute to maintaining proper energy metabolism, and also to reducing the feeling of fatigue and weariness. Additionally, vitamin B6 contributes to maintaining normal protein and glycogen metabolism and to regulation of hormonal activity, and folates help in proper amino acid synthesis. BOOM also contains vitamin C, which supports the proper functioning immune system and vitamin E, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
